Last night was a scary night for residents of NC. Around 9pm in Charlotte, NC the University started playing state of emergency sirens to take cover. Something I have never heard before. There were several tornado sightings found throughout the western part of North Carolina around High Point about 2 hours away from Charlotte, NC where I currently reside. The tornadoes destroyed many buildings and power-lines throughout Western NC on 2/28/2010! The scary thing is that North Carolina is not immune to Tornadoes. This could have been a lot worse then it was. Hitting highly dense cities would have caused many casualties and possible deaths.

North Carolina has many people living in mobile homes and they are in great risk when it comes to high winds and tornadoes. Here is the damages to several buildings and stores in North Carolina.
